Mount Kinabalu (Malay: Gunung Kinabalu) is a prominent mountain on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It is located in the east Malaysian state of Sabah and is protected as Kinabalu National Park, a World Heritage Site. Kinabalu is the tallest peak in Borneo's Crocker Range and is the 4th tallest mountain in the Malay Archipelago after Indonesian Papua's Puncak Jaya, Puncak Trikora and Puncak Mandala.[1]
In 1997, a re-survey using satellite technology established its summit (known as Low’s Peak) height at 4,095 metres (13,435 ft) above sea level, which is some 6 metres (20 ft) less than the previously thought and hitherto published figure of 4,101 metres (13,455 ft).[2]
The mountain and its surroundings are among the most important biological sites in the world, with over 4500 species of plant, 326 species of birds, and 100 mammalian species identified. Among this rich collection of wildlife are famous species such as the gigantic Rafflesia plants and the orangutan. Mount Kinabalu has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status.[3][4]
The main peak of the mountain (Low's Peak) can be climbed quite easily by a person in peak physical condition. If not fit enough, though, the climb can be very hard despite there being no need for mountaineering equipment at any point on the main route. Other peaks along the massif, however, require rock climbing skills.

From Nabalu, you will have another 1 hour drive through mountainous range and passing through Kundasang, Sabah’s vegetables growing valley, before you can reach Sabah tea With its sprawling tea plantation surrounded by pristine rainforests in the cool mountain air, the Sabah Tea Garden beckons you to indulge in its beautiful surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. A mere 2-hour drive from the city of Kota Kinabalu, the Sabah Tea Garden boasts a beautiful backdrop, Mount Kinabalu, 1hrs in sabah tea garden before proceed to the Poring Hot Springs ,There if you want to walk on the 35 meters high and 145 meters long Treetop Canopy walkway, you will have to hike for 20 minutes in order for you to reach at its site where you can have a bird’s eye view of the rainforest.
After the walk and the hiking, you must take a dip in the outdoor Japanese style bathtub with the sulphuric hot water believed to have medicinal value for your skin or else you will regret not to have tried the bath which you may not experience it again.
At Kinabalu National Park, you must visit the accessible mountain garden to find out for yourself the different species of plants found at that site. If you are in doubt, you don’t have to worry because you will be guided by the naturalist who will explain everything about the different species of plants that you are curious to know.
After lunch at continue to the mt kinabalu park,before proceed back to kota kinabalu city at 4pm.
